What's going on everyone, today I am doing a quick test for capturing home made motion capture. I have tried this in the past and it has worked, but did not know a lot about game design at that time.

I will be using 2 Kinect V1 sensors and small program to capture the mocap performances. Below is a link to the website I am using. Please look into if interested.

I am working out my shed at the moment, and the hardest part of capturing is just having the Kinect's at the proper height and distance. I am going to mount them at apposite ends of the shed for the best distance. The program allows you to adjust tilt angle before recording as well. Additionally, I will need to wrap some type of light colored cloth around a single leg to help the skeleton mapping software. This helps it understand what way I am facing, so if I do spins or turns, it still correctly orientates. If not, we get skeletal flipping artifacts.

For this test, I would like to be able to capture a few separate motion files. I will start with a basic idle stance, fight stance, punch, kick, and a few movements and turns. If I can capture these separately, it would be easier to work with than a larger file that would need to be cut into smaller pieces.
